Bible Study Class
Rev. Dr. Susan DeHoff will begin a 6-week study of Galatians on September 22 at noon in the church office building conference room. Paul’s letter to the Galatians is often referred to as the “Magna Carta of Christian Liberty.”
Paul wrote this letter to the new Christians living in Galatia at a time when other religious leaders were insisting that Gentiles needed to be circumcised according to Jewish law. Paul took them to task for believing this teaching, and his letter to them established Christianity as a new faith tradition on its own as opposed to a new sect in Judaism.
Judaism had been based on the premise that justification of believers results from adherence to the law. Christianity differs dramatically from that belief: Justification results from faith. Thus, Christians were freed from enslavement to Jewish laws.
All are welcome to attend this study, church members and non-church members alike. It would be helpful if you would contact the church at (508) 234-8220 or [email protected] to let us know that you plan to attend.
Adult Education Class
Join us for our Adult Education Class during the academic year, held at 9:30 AM before worship. This small group setting allows individuals to delve into the Bible together, whether you're exploring faith for the first time or seeking to deepen your understanding as a mature Christian. No prior experience is necessary, and all are encouraged to participate.
